What is the Multiplication Check?

The Multiplication Times Tables Check (MTC) is a Key Stage 2 assessment which is taken by pupils when they are in Year 4 at the end of the year - usually in June. The MTC's purpose is to ensure the times table knowledge is at the expected standard which is to know all their times tables up to 12 x 12. This times table check is statutory for all Primary Schools.

The MTC is an online test that consists of 25 questions that will ask the children to answer questions from their 2 to their 12 times table. For every question, you have 6 seconds to answer and in between the questions, there is a 3 second rest. The questions are generated randomly.
