The ARC

Welcome to the ARC!

We have had a very successful half term and we are all looking forward to the holiday. The boys have all achieved so many things including eating in the dinner hall. They have also participated in sensory stories and have covered many topics in their mainstream classes. If you would like to know the topics please look at their individual class pages. 

 

In lavender class the boys have completed many challenges including catching coins from their elbow and picking up items with different body parts. They had to use previous knowledge to do this. The children have also had lots of sensory fun with Mrs Daniel who has delivered sessions on 'The Gruffalo' 'Aliens in Underpants' and 'Giraffes can't dance.' The children have really enjoyed participating in these activities as you can see below. 

 

The boys have also been working really hard on their reading and it is great to see them moving through the 'Rainbow Readers' and getting their coloured badges. They are also doing really well on the '11 club' and are moving through their timetables at a fast pace. Please continue to practise over the holidays. 

 

We have also started ARC assemblies on a Friday afternoon and these already are proving successful. We are going to invite all the teachers to these over a period of time and ask them to provide '5 fun facts' about themselves. Miss Hughes is hopefully bringing in some information about her pets this week.

 

As usual we have also been doing lots of work around emotions and here are some pictures of the boys creating faces to match an emotion  

 

 

 

If there is anything you would particularly like us to work on please let us know as the Big A we delivered was very successful and the boys are very confident in talking about their feelings. After half term we will also be arranging a coffee morning for the parents in the ARC and further details will be emailed to you.
