World Book Day
To celebrate World Book Day this year, we were very excited to have an author visit from Sam Sedgeman for KS2, author of the Adventures on Trains series. The children participated in an assembly, writing workshops and lots of other activities linked to trains. Across school, children dressed as their favourite book character and shared their favourite stories.
In KS1, the children focused on a wonderful story called ‘A Child of Books’. The children were able to listen and respond to this story, thinking about what makes them a reader. They shared books they read at home, their favourite stories, and created some art work to develop their sense of what makes them a reader.
We ended they day with a book signing by Sam Sedgeman, with children queuing out the door with excitement to get their books signed by a real author.
