Our topic this term is Romans

Our curriculum

This topic explores life in the Roman times, building upon children's previous knowledge of previous time periods Vikings and Stone Age. Children will explore the Geography of Britain during the Roman times and the legacy that still exists. Children will apply their knowledge of the geographical location of Rome from their study in year 3 into Pompeii. Children will explore the impact Ancient Rome has left on Britain today, forming the idea behind many fundamental British Values. Leading into their work around the changes to Britain in Year 5 through the industrial revolution. Children will add to their existing knowledge of conflicts such as the Viking - Anglo-Saxon struggle and this will lead them into their further conflict work around the World Wars.
