Phonics
Phonics in the Autumn Term
In Phonics, we will be learning graphemes (written letters) and phonemes (spoken sound) and segmenting and blending words containing these sounds. We will also learn how to spell and write sentences using the Little Wandle program.
Please see the Little Wandle website to help you support your child at home and to see how phonics is taught.
Your child will also be given weekly Little Wandle homework to embed their learning.
Grow the Code
We will also be 'growing the code' by exploring all of the alternative spellings for each phoneme.
