School Council & Sustainability Squad
School Council
We are Windy Arbor School Council. We help children to Dream, Believe and Achieve. We aim to improve every child's experience at school so that children can have a positive attitude about school.
Our School Council Charter outlines what we believe, our aims and how we work.

What we do...
Every other week we attend a meeting in the meeting room where we discuss issues that arise in the school. Sometimes these come from our School Council discussion time in class, sometimes from the Head or teachers in the school.
Our secretary types the minutes of each meeting and we start the next meeting by reading and correcting the minutes of our previous meeting.
Here are the minutes from our meetings this year

Sustainability Squad
Sustainability at Windy Arbor
Sustainability has become a large focus from the Government and we are looking at how we can make changes at our school to improve our carbon footprint.
As a school we have participated in events such as ‘Protecting our Planet day’ and ‘Walk to School Week’ raising the children’s’ awareness the importance of working together to reduce our carbon footprint and look after our environment.
We have our very own Sustainability Squad that consists of one nominee per class. We meet to discuss strategies to help us become more sustainable and how we can care for our environment at Windy Arbor and in our local community.
Our work includes:
Monthly litter pick with a councillor.
Planting trees on our school grounds.
Planting a wildlife garden in the local area.
Collecting cans for We Can Community
In October 2025 the Sustainability Squad attended the ‘Your Future Chelmsley Wood’ schools event to celebrate our achievements over the last academic year where we were presented with our Level 1 and 2 Greener Schools Solihull award.
