PSHE at Windy Arbor

During Personal, Social, Health and Economic (PSHE) education we use Jigsaw to help us learn:

How to keep ourselves and others healthy, safe and happy as we grow, change and begin to consider our futures.

Each year group has their own Jigsaw ‘jiggie’ who works alongside them.

Reception and Nursery – Jenie, Year 1 – Jack, Year 2 – Jo, Year 3 – Jino, Year 4 – Jaz, Year 5 – Jez, Year 6 - Jem.

Why Jigsaw?

At Windy Arbor we use a scheme of work called Jigsaw. Jigsaw offers a comprehensive, whole school programme for Primary PSHE including statutory Relationships and Health Education, in a spiral and progressive scheme of work.

With strong emphasis on emotional literacy, building resilience and nurturing mental and physical health, Jigsaw provides an engaging and relevant PSHE curriculum. This helps guide our children through the spiritual, moral, social and cultural challenges that they may encounter. Jigsaw lessons also include mindfulness allowing children to advance their emotional awareness, concentration and focus.
