During this term, we will be exploring the following:
We are going to be exploring a Spring Musical called 'There's a Sunflower in my Supper'.
We will be using simple fieldwork and observational skills to study the geography of their school and its grounds and the key human and physical features of its surrounding environment. Also using simple compass directions (north, south, east and west) and locational and directional language [for example, near and far, left and right], to describe routes on a map.
Design and Technology
We will be examining puppets, their materials and how they are made. We will then mark out, cut and join fabric pieces to create our own alien puppets.
We will also be learning about wheels and axles, we will explore how to use them to create a 'Moon buggy' to travel across the craters on the moon.
We are going to explore and find our about the types of sources that can be used to represent the past so we can find out more about the history of space. We will research the life of Neil Armstrong as the 'first man on the moon' and the life of Helen Sharman as the 'first British women on the moon'.
