The Skills Builder Partnership believe that all children should thrive both in the classroom and beyond it.
Children need to be skilled in communication, creative problem solving, self-management and collaboration. These skills are essential for success; and to truly equip children for the future, we must start building these skills from Primary age. The eight essential skills listed by Skills Builder are:
Here at Windy Arbor it is our vision that life skills are embedded into our curriculum our relationship with the Skills Builder Partnership supports this; we continuously develop these eight skills through the curriculum and lesson-time projects across the year. The Skills Builder Partnership also offer opportunities to work with local businesses, such as the Wesleyan Assurance, Birmingham University and Birmingham Airport. Here, children get a chance to work in teams with children from other schools as well as their own, in order to pitch an idea to employees! By working with Skills Builder, children are developing skills that will be vital when they enter the world of work.
