We were very lucky to have an author visit with Rick Riordan, author of the Percy Jackson series. He read some extracts to the children, teaching them how to use prosody in their oral storytelling to create drama. The children then worked with him and his illustrator to create their own mythical creatures and write their own myths. Some wonderful stories were written on our class blog. We now have lots of children who have continues their love of Rick Riordan, with his books taking centre stage stage on their bookshelves at home
