Book Blankets
We have recently introduced book blankets across school as a way of encouraging children to develop a love of reading for pleasure, through exposure to books that interest them and a wider range of texts, both new and old. The children rotate around the classroom, looking through the texts, reading the blurbs, reading extracts, before choosing their own reading for pleasure book. It also helps the children to recommend books to their peers.
