Languages at Windy Arbor
I am a linguist when:
•I respect other cultures and languages.
•I can understand and communicate languages in spoken and written form.
At Windy Arbor, we study French. We have 30 minute lessons every week in Years 3-6, and explore lots of different topics and vocabulary.
The children are exposed to activities that support the 4 areas of language learning; speaking, listening, reading and writing.
As a school, we follow the 'Mr French' scheme of work, which is targeted at Key Stage 2. However, the children in Key Stage 1 are exposed to some basic French vocabulary within daily teaching and a 'French Word of the Week'.
