During the Reading is Magic festival the children participated in lots of exciting work linked to reading. They had virtual visits with authors, where they were able to learn all about a writer’s journey and gather some ideas for their own story writing. As well as this, they had virtual visits with some illustrators who helped them design and draw their own characters. The children also had an opportunity to write letters to their MP about climate change, inspired by the story, ‘Letters to Earth’. The week ended with lots of story-telling sessions across school, where the children shared their favourite stories. It was a lovely celebration.
