A day in Reception

We open our doors at 8:45 am for Soft Start, a gentle, calm start to the morning where children can arrive, say good morning to their friends and settle in before registration.

We use a visual timetable throughout the day to help children understand the routine. The structure is predictable and nurturing, built to help your child develop independence, confidence, and a love of learning.

Free breakfast club from 8:15 am: All our children are welcome in the main hall. It’s a lovely, calm start with a healthy breakfast and time with friends before the school day begins.

Lunch: All our children eat together in the school hall, with hot and cold options every day. Reception children have playtime in the infant playground after lunch, with lunchtime staff on hand to help them build friendships and play games.
