WB - 7.2.22 Children's Mental Health Week and Road Safety
This week is Children's Mental Health Week...
The theme of this is 'Growing Together.'
We will be looking at our feelings and emotions, considering what we would like to achieve or get better at in Nursery and how we could help each other to achieve this, in order to 'Grow Together' and support one another. We will also reflect on our 'Skillsbuilder' targets in the same way - with a focus on 'Listening,' 'Speaking,' 'Aiming High' and 'Teamwork.'.
We will also be learning about Road Safety this week...we are very fortunate to have been sent some wonderful resources especially for this week; such as dressing-up costumes, road signs and our very own crossing!
We have been learning the importance of holding hands with our grown-up to stay safe and also, to stop! Look! (both ways!) Listen and think! Before we can then, Go, when crossing roads with our grown-up.
We will explore traffic lights and their meaning, use them in role play and then create our own traffic light biscuits to bring home and eat!
We will be thinking about changing the words to some traditional nursery rhymes that we know... have a go at home!
We would also like to know what shapes you see when looking at road signs on your way to or from school? Can you talk about them?
