WB: 24-1-22 All About Our School Goats!
This week, we will be exploring
the non-fiction text 'Goat Skills'.
We will explore the contents page, page numbers and the glossary. We will discuss how these can be use to find out the information we need to look after our own school goats!
We will use our phonic knowledge to decode words, captions and sentences.
We will also share the story 'The 3 Billy Goats Gruff'.
We will join in by saying,
"Who's that trip trapping over my bridge?"
We will answer comprehension questions to show that we have understood the story.
We will tell the story using 'our own' words and apply our 'prosody' skills as we change our voices for each of the characters.
We will use vocabulary from the story such as,
first, second, third, small, medium, big, sweet, over, across...
In 'Phonics', we will be focusing on
the following sounds:
Remember, 'digraphs have 2 letters 1 sound' and 'trigraphs 3 letters 1 sound'.
Listen carefully!

We will be learning to read new tricky words.
