We will explore the meaning of new words.

We will segment and blend sounds to read words, change our voices to match the different characters and answer questions to show that we understand the story!

In 'Phonics', we will be focusing on

the following sounds:

Remember, 'digraphs have 2 letters 1 sound' and 'trigraphs 3 letters 1 sound'.

Look and listen carefully!

Handwriting

  • We will continue to practise forming the letters in our names
  • We will practise spelling 'tricky words' whilst forming the letters correctly.

Remember, you can watch the 'handwriting practice videos' on our Reception homepage.

We will use our knowledge of letters and sounds during a range of writing opportunities.

  • Create a favourite meal and label it.
  • Write labels and captions to match characters and objects from the story.

During our daily maths sessions, we will be exploring, counting and comparing amounts.

We will identify more, fewer, equal and find the total of two groups of objects.

We will use concrete objects to support us to complete activities!

In P.E, we will be developing our throwing and catching skills, using a range of physical equipment.

Let's Create!

We will use creative skills that was taught in the Autumn term, to create paintings and 3D models using clay.

We will learn a new song and join in with the actions!

On Friday, we will begin our Spring 1 'Wonderful Workshops'.
