This week we will be learning about Diwali and Remembrance Day...what a busy week!

We will listen to the story of Rama and Sita:

We will use paint and felt-tips to design our own Mehndi patterns, feel free to print the hand out and do this activitiy at home too!

We will explore how Diwali is celebrated and what Rangoli patterns are:

Then we will make our own large scale Rangoli pattern, using loose parts, such as, coloured rice, lentils, sequins. etc.

We will recap firework safety from Bonfire Night this week, and learn why Diwali can be known as the 'Festival of Light,' alongside this, we will be making and decorating our own Diva Lamps to bring home, using clay.

We will be talking about Remembrance Day, when it is and why we celebrate it...

We will hear a little bit about one of the soldiers' lives; they were real people just like us!!

We will use our pattern marks to trace lines on poppies, again, please feel free to print this of and practise at home

We will also be using cake cases, lollipop sticks and paint to create our very own poppies to bring home to remember our soldiers!
