As it is the 1st of February, we are in a brand new month - it is no longer "J, J, January," it is now "FFFebruary." Have a little recap of our months of the year and tapping out the beat to go with our song!
Here is the rhyme for you to learn this week:
Star begins with ‘s’ – What else can you find beginning with the ‘s’ sound?
I would like you to have a little think and upload to ‘ClassDojo’ if you can, how you are feeling today? There may be some new feelings below – why not have a think which ones you know and discuss any that you are unsure of yet.

Tuesday 2nd February 2021
Let's start 'Terrific Tuesday' with some meditation as it is Children's Mental Health Week - this is a new skill for us in nursery, so bare with it and see if you can do it! Relax and unwind for a few minutes!
Twinkle, Twinkle is one of my daughters favourites, so, she wanted to sing it for you all - See if you can sing along with her.

What is your favourite song?
How many stars are in the jars? Can you count them and have a go at writing the number? Which jar has the most? Which has the fewest? How many altogether? How many jars can you see? What colours can you find?
Can you tell me any worries that you have at the moment? If you could have one wish or you could make anything better, what would it be? You can talk about this to your grown-up for them to write, or have a go at writing one word to express this or you may draw a picture.
Blowing bubbles is meant to be very soothing for children, if you have any, give this a go!...Talk about your worries and blow them away!
Here is 'Wish Upon a Star' - Please listen to the story and see if you can answer the questions after.

'Wish Upon a Star' continued...

Wednesday 3rd February 2021
Today at Windy Arbor it is ‘Inside Out Day’ – This means that if you are in school in a ‘bubble’ or learning from home you can wear an item of clothing inside out in support of Children’s Mental Health and Well-being Day.
How do you feel today? Which character would you be?
How many stars are there? What would 1 more be? Can you put them in size order?
Phonics Activity -
Try making some different voice sounds to show different feelings and emotions. You could say “Oh!” if you are surprised, “mmm” if something is yummy, or “Ssh” when you are trying to be quiet. I look forward to seeing which sounds you can think of making to show how you are feeling!
This afternoon is ‘Windy Well-Being afternoon,’ which means, switch off your computers, laptops, tablets, etc. and enjoy some time ‘off-screen’ doing what you enjoy!
Here are a few ideas:
Meditation
You could do some baking
Perhaps you could build a rocket using junk modelling (bottles, toilet roll tubes or boxes) or blocks around you and ‘fly to the sky’ to look at the stars! You might like to take a look up at the stars in the night sky…I wonder how many you might see!
Whatever you choose to do with your 'Windy Well-being afternoon' make sure you have fun!
Afterwards, get your favourite book and snuggle up for a story together!
If you do not have a story book to share, why not try this idea?
Thursday 4th February 2021
Can you create your own version or change any words in the nursery rhyme? What would they be? Would they still rhyme and ‘sound the same?’
How many big stars are there? How many smaller stars? Could we sort them any other way?
Can you cut the star out very carefully and decorate it? You could use other resources around you to make your very own ‘Twinkle Star.’ You might create yourself a magic wand! What would you pretend to be; a wizard? A fairy? A princess? You can be anything you want!
Friday 5th February 2021
As part of Children's Mental Health Week, try this and see how it makes you feel.
Can you make something that makes you smile today or look in the mirror and draw your face? How do you feel today?
Have a go at this maths activity
Here is a 'Twinkle, Twinkle' challenge...Can you remember all of the words and sing it to your grown-up?
CLICK ME! To find out how to make yourself a stress ball!
Another way you could use a balloon to help with your worries, as well as making a stress ball or instead of, could be to write your worries on a balloon and release it into the sky – up to the stars!
